Expected Trends in Diamonds and Jewelry

While fashion changes quite frequently, it was not until recent years that jewelry began to undergo enormous changes in what was considered fashionable. Until recently, jewelry was simply stated, overly adorned, or antique, and few pieces outside of this were considered to be highly fashionable. In recent times, however, the rule of only a few pieces of small jewelry has been tossed to the wayside, as chunky rings and jewels and even floral designs have become the must have jewelry statement for everyone from celebrities to local trendsetters.

While the origin of the trend is uncertain, it is at least partially rooted in the “bling” culture made famous by hip hop artists and fans. The trend originated as wearing the most diamonds one could possibly fit on to a piece of jewelry or on to any item that would hold them, but has slowly morphed into a trend of wearing larger jewels that has moved well beyond only encompassing the hip hop culture.

This year is expected to continue the trend, with many top celebrities refusing to be seen without their chunky cocktail rings. Among such celebrities are Pink, Beyonce, and Cheryl Cole. Pop songstress Rihanna has recently been spotted wearing quite a chunky ring on her engagement finger, leading to rumors of a New Year’s Eve proposal from long-time “close friend” Chris Brown.

There’s nothing more exciting than spring fashion. Sorry, fall just doesn’t do it for me. Spring is always fresh and bright. For me, it’s just as simple as that. Plus, this year’s trends are fun, sexy and comfortable. Seriously, what more can a girl ask for? There’s dozens of looks to go for and each one works for just about anyone.

List of Trends- Simple silhouettes, simple glam, bohemian glam, one-shoulder dresses, loose and free wide pants in light flowing fabrics, mixed prints, COLOR, light fabrics, cropped jackets, femme menswear, masculine inspirations, (timeless tailoring, safari and military inspirations), 70′s luxury CHICNESS, comfy and preppy, retro romantic (rocker meets silks and lace). You can sense the 80′s inspiration in that last one but you really can’t see it. THANKFULLY!

Inspirations- Nature with flowers everywhere (prairie-like flower prints- smaller than what we’ve been seeing), very natural looks, free spirited bohemian, prairie and American western with bleached denims, turquoise and leather jewels with feathers and fabrics. International inspirations were seen in harem pants and tribal styles.

Super Bowl Ring

They say Super Bowl teams don’t just fight for the Lombardi Trophy, the winners even get to wear some really fancy rings. The NFL pays for about 150 rings to be given to the winner team (including the players, staff, owners).

The ring shown above was given to the winners of the Super Bowl last year. The Super Bowl XLIV Championship0 rings for the New Orleans Saints were designed by famous New York Jeweler Tiffany & Co.

These rings also feature fleur-de-lis logo of New Orleans Saints with round diamonds. On the side of the ring is inscribed ‘World Champions’ in yellow gold and 16 diamonds signifying the number of games the team won in the series.
